As I was blog hoping I came across something that peeked my interest it referred ways to encourage and reflect on gratefulness. One of the suggestions was to discuss as a family things we are grateful for once a month. So in honor of teacher parent conferences I have chosen Aly's preschool teachers.
I was very nervous about going in and talking with them. This is probably Al's last year of preschool before going to sniff sniff elementary school. Much to my own dismay, I was inadvertly comparing Aly's development to others in her class.. I never thought i would be guilty of this but there I was; wondering if Al was progressing as she should and second guessing my parenting or lack of, wondering if I should be doing more. I did not want to discuss this at all, because I didn't want to look weak. But I ended up spilling my guts out to these kindly teachers...I felt horrible in someways because we were supposed to be talking about Aly but instead we were talking about my fears, perhaps because she is my first and I sometimes I hate not having an instruction manual. But I digress what I am grateful for is that these ladies patiently let me spill my guts and then reassured me, gave suggestions, and then reassured me again that we we're OK..What a relief this has been weighing on my mind since last summer.
I love these ladies they were so understanding and related to me their own personal experiences. I feel like I am going in a completely new direction with Aly. Thank you Thank you! Mrs. Kissane, Mrs. Aragon, and Mrs. Lindsay!

Aly's preschool just ended a unit on Egypt. So this is Aly at her Egyptian Valentines Day Party...It was so cute. Aly has since been obsessed with Egyptian Queens --its a nice break from dinosaurs and barbies..I will not complain.
